By replacing your old cast iron throat damper with a top mount damper, you can save hundreds of dollars in heating costs each year.
It is designed to keep the cold air out and your expensive warm air in.
A top mount damper is constructed with a cast aluminum frame and stainless steel lid which are attached with a series of stainless steel springs.
It is easily opened & closed by using a handle which is connected to a 30' cable and mounted to the inside of the firebox. In just one motion your top mount damper will open or tightly close.
A chimney fire safety device is included and will lock the damper open in case of an emergency.
What is a Barometric Damper?
Do you live in a region that experiences a lot of snow and ice?
Snow and ice can prevent your top mount damper from opening. If you live in a snow and ice climate you need to consider purchasing a top mount damper with a cap built on.
What are the benefits?
NOTE If you have a gas fireplace it is not recommended that a top sealing damper be used.
